The KRyS Global Island Challenge • South Shore Beaches
SATURDAY • MARCH 19TH • Elite Individual Waves start at 8:40am / Team Waves start at 9:30am
Bermuda’s south shore beaches are bathed in pink sand, making an already poetic scenery that much harder to revisit. Once you are here, you’ll never want to leave. As Mark Twain, a frequent Bermuda visitor once quoted. “You can go to heaven if you want. I’d rather stay in Bermuda.”
The KRyS Global Island Challenge, delivers what Bermuda is so well known for; picturesque limestone bluffs, spectacular coves, natural trails, and some of the most famous pink sand beaches in the world, completed with various shades of light and deep aqua blue water. Welcome to paradise!
Staged within Bermuda’s south shore coastal nature reserve and hosted by the Bermuda Regiment at their Warwick Camp facility, the Island Challenge is a picturesque 5K or 10K Boot Camp training test, which features some of Bermuda’s best pink sand beaches, coastal bluffs and nature trails. And to put the exclamation mark on the event, a visit to the Bermuda Regiment’s Assault Course with military style obstacles at Warwick Camp, perched atop the sand dunes overlooking the south shore.
The first Elite Individual wave starts at 8:40am and two laps of the course is mandatory. Team waves start at 9:30am and if one lap of the 5K circuit wasn’t enough, teams can opt to complete the circuit again, doubling their challenge points.
Stick around afterwards for the relaxing Bermuda Regiment and Butterfield & Vallis Family Style BBQ on the Bermuda Regiment’s Officer’s Mess lawn. Participants receive one complementary plate of food. Additional plates can be purchased with a $5 donation towards the Bermuda Triple Challenge’s charity partners.
