Chubb Royal Challenge
SUNDAY • MARCH 20TH • 9:45am •HMD Bermuda (Her/His Majesty’s Dockyard, Bermuda) was the principal base of the Royal Navy in the Western Atlantic following the American Revolution right up to the end of the Cold War. In the decades following American independence, Britain struggled to maintain its maritime supremacy. The Royal Navy commissioned the construction of the Royal Naval Dockyards in 1795.
The Dockyards remained a critical base for the supremacy of the Atlantic for Allied Forces in both World Wars and the Cold War, until the base’s ultimate closure in 1995.
ACE Global Royal Challenge is a 5K obstacle assault within the confines of the once Royal Navy outpost and safe harbour. Now a tourism hot spot, participants will ambush the old base lands in a high energy, action packed circuit exploring the old stone buildings, wharves and fortifications. You step back in time to the era of the British Empire, when Britannia ruled the waves.
Beginning at 9:45am, participants will have to run, swim (optional) and climb their way to gratification for completing this challenge.
As an extra special reward, to celebrate all our amazing participants - not only for this event, but especially those who will have completed all three challenges - there will be a participant appreciation brunch immediately following the ACE Group Royal Challenge. It is sponsored by Buzz and Butterfield and Vallis, and will be located in the Victualling Yard. It commences as the first racers come through the finish line. You’ll be hungry. You know you will. So kick back, relax and soak it all in, sharing stories of the weekend with your fellow competitors..
